Pastor Rommel Gil is the founding and current pastor of Calvary Chapel of the Redwoods. Pastor Rommel grew up in East Los Angeles and La Mirada, CA during the turbulent 1960's and 70's and was involved in the drug culture of the day. Bay area that Rommel received Christ as His savior while attending San Jose' State University as a Pre-Law major. He moved to Crescent City , CA in 1988 and met with a small group of believers in the home of Art & Jan Giovinetti in Harbor, Oregon. The Lord has since provided a church home for the local body of believers in Smith River, CA. Pastor Rommel currently resides in Smith River, CA. with his wife Barbara.
